Herald

The first-generation KRN pager.

Herald is the reference receiver for KRN: a compact pager with a narrow text display, simple controls, and receive-only radio behaviour.

Current Firmware

  • Four-button 42×4 interface with inbox, groups, settings, alerts, and NVS-backed persistence.
  • SX1262 acquisition, scheduled reception for relevant pager and group slots, radio sleep, and duplicate suppression.
  • USB serial maintenance and status-indicator support.

The firmware is under active test on KRN Sled 1 while dedicated Herald hardware is developed.
