KPSAG Archive

Document Classification
Archive Edition: First Digital Edition
Editorial Status: Active Curation
The Kōwhai Personal Signalling Advisory Group (KPSAG) existed to ensure that every recommendation could be documented, every document standardised, and every standard revised and duly recommended.
Its publications record the gradual development of modern signalling practice through committee deliberation, field observation, interdepartmental correspondence, and an unusually productive editorial office.
Although many of the technical ideas described within these documents later informed the Kōwhai Ridge Network, the archive is presented as a historical record rather than a current specification. The KRN-P pages describe the project's present technical direction. Editorial notes have been kept to a minimum where clarification was not considered necessary.
Editorial Note
Publication numbering has been preserved wherever possible. The absence of a document from the archive should not be interpreted as evidence that the document did not exist, only that no archival copy is presently available.
The current archive is necessarily incomplete. References to publication series not presently represented in the archive have been retained where they occur in recovered material, pending the discovery of suitable archival copies.
Readers may occasionally encounter references to committees that continued meeting after their charter expired, implementation schedules extending well beyond the expected operational lifetime of the equipment under discussion, or facilities whose existence was apparently considered too routine to warrant explanation.
These references have been retained in the interests of historical completeness.
